Uno No Mercy Rules: The Brutal Guide to Stacking +10s
The Mercy Rule (Knockout)
The biggest change in this edition: If a player ever accumulates 25 or more cards in their hand, they are immediately knocked out of the game. The game ends when one player empties their hand, or only one player remains un-knocked out!
Why is No Mercy So Brutal?
For years, players have been ignoring the official rules and playing with devastating house rules (like stacking). Mattel finally listened, gathered the most evil house rules from the internet, and officially sanctioned them in the Uno Showdown: No Mercy deck.
The Devastating New Cards
The deck is significantly larger (168 cards compared to the standard 108) to accommodate the sheer chaos.
- Wild Draw 6 & Wild Draw 10: Yes, you read that correctly. These cards exist and they will destroy friendships.
- Discard All: Allows you to discard all cards of the same color that match the color currently in play.
- Wild Reverse Draw 4: Reverses the direction of play AND the next player has to draw 4.
Official Stacking is Here
In No Mercy, stacking is explicitly allowed and encouraged. If someone plays a +2, you can play a +2 or +4 on top of it. The pain accumulates and passes to the next player. The only rule is: the penalty card you play must be of equal or greater value!
The "0" and "7" Rule
Whenever a "0" is played, all players must pass their entire hand to the player next to them in the direction of play. Whenever a "7" is played, the player who played it MUST swap hands with a player of their choosing.
With these additions, matches are incredibly fast-paced, highly unpredictable, and guaranteed to test even the strongest of friendships.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the hand limit in Uno No Mercy?
The hand limit is exactly 24 cards. If a player draws or accumulates 25 or more cards in their hand, they are immediately knocked out of the match under the strict Mercy Rule.
How does card stacking work officially?
You can stack any draw card onto another draw card, provided it is of equal or greater drawing value. For example, you can stack a +4 on a +2, or a +10 on a +6, but you cannot stack a +2 on top of a +4.
What are the Wild Color Roulette and Wild Draw 10 cards?
The Wild Draw 10 card forces the next player to draw 10 cards. The Wild Color Roulette forces the next player to choose a color and draw from the deck until they pull that specific color.
